News from Eli Terry

November 21, 2025

Dear Eli Terry Families,
As the weather gets colder, please remember that students will continue to go outside for recess as long as the wind chill is above 20°F. That means if the feels-like temperature is 20 degrees or higher, we will be going outdoors.
Please be sure your child comes to school with a warm jacket, hat, and gloves on cold days so they can stay comfortable and safe during recess.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone warm and prepared!

Grades 3-5: Invention Convention Introduction

The Connecticut Invention Convention is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an interest in STEM careers by encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This unique science fair, a long-standing tradition for South Windsor students, gives participants the opportunity to design and create their own inventions to solve real-world problems.
Throughout the program, students will explore invention design, brainstorming techniques, and ways to reflect on challenges in their lives and the world around them. While most of the project will be completed independently at home, there will be one virtual work session and one additional in-person work session where students can receive feedback and support on their process.
If your child is interested in participating in the 2025–2026 South Windsor Invention Convention, please click on the following link- Invention Convention Introduction Letter
