News from Eli Terry

December 5, 2025

Dear Eli Terry Families,
We had a truly wonderful week at school, and it’s clear that the winter season is right around the corner—especially with how cold it has been outside lately! Even with the chilly weather, our classrooms have been full of energy, learning, and excitement.
Today was a special highlight with our PTO Holiday Fair. The building was buzzing with enthusiasm, and it was such a joy to watch students take part in the experience. Their smiles, careful choices, and genuine excitement about finding gifts for family members and friends really captured the spirit of the season. The holiday season is all about kindness and giving, and your children were so proud of the thoughtful gifts they selected at the fair. Moments like these remind us just how lucky we are to spend our days with such caring and joyful students.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and our PTO for making events like this possible. Have a great weekend!

Project Little Smiles- Bring in your Broken/Unused Crayons and Children's Books

Project Little Smiles is a student-led service project created by two South Windsor High School juniors to bring comfort, creativity, and joy to children at Connecticut Children’s Hospital. We collect broken and gently used crayons to be cleaned and reshaped into new crayons, along with gently used children’s books, to help brighten a child’s stay.

We are collecting items from December 9th-12th.

Steps for Your Family to Take:
1.Find broken or unused crayons and gently used children’s books at home.
2.Place crayons in a small Ziploc bag (preferred).
3.Have your child drop off donations in the school’s collection box located in front of the main office.

The December Book Swap is Back: Start Bringing in Those Books!

Eli Terry School will be hosting a December Book Swap on Friday, December 19. A collection bin will be outside the main office for students to drop off books starting this coming Monday!
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to share books they’ve enjoyed and pick out “new-to-them” books to bring home. Book swaps help build excitement for reading, encourage generosity, and keep great stories circulating throughout our school community.
All students will be able to participate in the book swap, even if they do not donate a book.

Lost & Found

While you are at Eli Terry for conferences over the coming weeks, please take a moment to check our ever-growing Lost & Found. We have many sweatshirts and jackets waiting to make it back home.
To help items get returned quickly, please write your child’s name on the tag of their clothing.
