Dear Eli Terry Families,
This will be our last newsletter of 2025! Don't worry, we still have school on Monday and Tuesday next week. Tuesday is an early dismissal at 12:45 PM.
As we head into the winter break, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all of our Eli Terry families. We hope your days ahead are filled with rest, joy, and time spent with loved ones. This season is a wonderful opportunity to pause, recharge, and celebrate all that we have accomplished together so far this year.
We wish you a happy holiday season and a happy New Year!
Enjoy the upcoming break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Warmly,
Mike & Kelley

5th Graders Caroling Around ET Today!

Thank you to Mrs. Leach and fifth grader Jack Gardner for organizing a group of fifth-grade students to spread holiday cheer in several of our classrooms.

Traveling Mural Project

Our 5th graders have been hard at work on an exciting Traveling Mural Project! Working with Mrs. Aceto and Mrs. Howard, they brainstormed, designed, and created a vibrant 10-foot mural that reflects the heart of our community. Soon, this mural will be cut into one-foot segments and mailed to partner schools across the country—including schools in Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York, Texas, and many more. In return, we’ll receive pieces of their murals to assemble into a collaborative piece of artwork. We can’t wait to see the creative connections our students build through this project!

Senator Murphy's Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest 2026

Our office is excited to share some updates on Senator Murphy’s Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest, with this year's contest marking 10 years!

Senator Murphy is continuing the tradition of asking elementary, middle, and high schools from across Connecticut to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by submitting essays that reflect on Dr. King’s dream, their own aspirations, and what Dr. King means to them.

Our office will share an updated timeline for submissions, contest guidelines, and the essay submission portal in January. We will also update the Senator’s website to reflect these changes in the new year.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at 860-549-8463 or email us at MLK_Essay@murphy.senate.gov.
