Senator Murphy's Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest 2026

Our office is excited to share some updates on Senator Murphy’s Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest, with this year's contest marking 10 years!

Senator Murphy is continuing the tradition of asking elementary, middle, and high schools from across Connecticut to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by submitting essays that reflect on Dr. King’s dream, their own aspirations, and what Dr. King means to them.

Our office will share an updated timeline for submissions, contest guidelines, and the essay submission portal in January. We will also update the Senator’s website to reflect these changes in the new year.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at 860-549-8463 or email us at MLK_Essay@murphy.senate.gov.
