Dear Eli Terry Families,
I am writing to share a brief update on our February attendance data at Eli Terry School.
Our overall attendance rate for February was 95.44%, which reflects the strong commitment our families show in making sure students are in school each day and ready to learn. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain strong attendance.
We also closely monitor chronic absenteeism, which refers to students missing 10% or more of the school year. In February, our chronic absenteeism rate improved to 7.46%, which is below our 10% target. At this time, 34 students are identified as chronically absent, and we are working closely with families to support consistent attendance and ensure that all students have the opportunity to fully engage in their learning.
We understand that the winter months can bring illnesses and weather-related challenges. As we move into the spring months, we encourage families to continue prioritizing daily attendance whenever possible. Every day in school helps students build relationships with peers and teachers, stay on track with important learning, and develop positive habits that support lifelong success.
If your child is experiencing attendance challenges and you would like support, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to partner with you and can help connect families with resources when barriers to attendance arise.  Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community.

No School: Next Friday, 3/20

There is no school next Friday, March 20th, in recognition of Eid-al-Fitr.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The name Eid al-Fitr means “celebration of breaking the fast.” It is the first time Muslims return to eating during the daytime after fasting throughout the month of Ramadan. Eid is a time of celebration, joy, and gratitude, when Muslims gather with family and friends to exchange greetings, gifts, and sweets.
