Dear Eli Terry Families,
As we approach Memorial Day weekend, we would like to take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Memorial Day is an important opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.
We hope this long weekend provides your family with time to relax, reconnect, and enjoy time together.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year. We are grateful for our wonderful Eli Terry community and all that you do to support our students each day.
Please note that school will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday.
Wishing you and your family a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.

5th Annual Bookmark Contest

Students participated in our 5th Annual Bookmark Contest, themed “Get Curious,” by creating original bookmark designs inspired by creativity, learning, and exploration. Winning students received a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble, and their bookmarks were copied and distributed in the library for fellow students to enjoy and use throughout the year.

Winners pictured are Emerson (grade 1), Skylar (grade 5), and Simra (grad 3)

Finishing Up State Testing Next Week

We have completed all scheduled Smarter Balanced Assessments. At this time, we are providing students with additional time as needed and allowing students who were absent during our testing window to complete make-up testing.
Thank you for all of your support over the last few weeks. Your children took the assessments seriously and put forth great effort in doing their best thinking!

Kindergarten Registration Information

South Windsor Public Schools is excited to welcome our 2026 - 2027 Kindergarten class! Your child is about to take an exciting next step in their education. We are looking forward to the beginning of a collaborative partnership between home and school in order to provide a successful transition for both your child and your family.

The South Windsor full-day kindergarten program is available to children who are residents of South Windsor and who are (or will be) age five (5) on or before September 1, 2026.  If your child’s birthday is after September 1, 2026, and you would like them considered for kindergarten this fall, you may fill out the pre-registration form and check the appropriate box and the principal will schedule an assessment to determine if admitting your child would be developmentally appropriate.
