Dear Eli Terry Families,
We did it!  Our first full five-day week of the school year is complete! It has been wonderful to see our Terriers settling into routines, building relationships, and bringing so much energy and enthusiasm to school each day.
Thank you to our students for working hard, our staff for creating such welcoming and engaging classrooms, and our families for your continued partnership and support. We are off to a fantastic start and look forward to all the learning, growing, and fun ahead!
Have a wonderful and well deserved long weekend!

No School on Monday, September 7th

As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. We hope all of our Eli Terry families enjoy the long weekend! We look forward to welcoming our Terriers back on Tuesday, September 8th.

Bringing Portrait of a Terrier Home

At Eli Terry, our students are learning what it means to be Engaged, Empowered, Socially Conscious, and Resilient. These four Portrait of a Terrier attributes aren't just important at school—they are skills and habits our Terriers can practice every day!
One of the best ways families can reinforce these attributes is simply by talking about them. Instead of asking, “How was school today?” try one of these questions:
ENGAGED – I am curious and take part in my learning.
  • What was something you were curious about today?
  • What did you learn today that you want to know more about?
  • When did you really participate or get involved today?
EMPOWERED – I believe in myself and take responsibility.
  • What is something you are proud of today?
  • What choice did you make that helped you be successful?
  • When did you take responsibility for something today?
SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS – I care about others and treat people fairly.
  • How did you help or include someone today?
  • Did you notice someone being kind or helpful?
  • What did you do today to make your classroom or school a better place?
RESILIENT – I keep trying and learn from challenges.
  • What was challenging for you today? What did you do?
  • Was there a time you had to keep trying even when something was difficult?
  • What mistake helped you learn something new?
Try choosing one question each day at dinner, in the car, or before bedtime. These small conversations can help our students recognize all the ways they are already demonstrating what it means to be a Terrier!
