Dear Eli Terry Families, Today, Eli Terry students enjoyed an exciting and interactive assembly presented by Brain Break Academy, generously sponsored by our PTO! This high-energy experience was filled with hilarious stunts, exciting games, friendly competitions, magic, and plenty of laughter! Throughout the assembly, students were encouraged to focus, feel inspired, relax, and recharge while having fun together as a school community. A huge thank you to our amazing PTO for providing this fun and memorable experience for our students. Have a great weekend! Mike & Kelley |
This coming Wednesday, October 21st, Eli Terry will celebrate Unity Day, a national day dedicated to promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion while standing together against bullying. We encourage all students and staff to wear orange to show our unity and commitment to creating a school community where everyone feels safe, valued, and included. Unity Day connects to our Portrait of a Terrier attribute of being Socially Conscious, reminding us of the importance of caring for others, treating people fairly, and making sure everyone feels a sense of belonging. Together, we can make Eli Terry a place where everyone belongs! |

The purpose of this club is to provide monthly problem solving contests for students. It is open to 4th grade and 5th grade students. MOEMS is an international organization that provides opportunities for students to engage with challenging math problems, wrestle with interesting puzzles and to develop problem-solving skills. Additional information about MOEMS can be found at moems.org. This year we will be offering the MOEMS club for a total of 15 sessions beginning the week of November 2nd and running through the week of March 15th. There will be five monthly contests from November through March. In addition, there will be practice sessions before each contest, where students will explore problem-solving strategies and practice using sample problems from prior contests. Students who participate in the club should plan to attend all contests and practice sessions. For more information and to register your child for MOEMS please click here.

Next week, we will continue exploring what it means to be an Engaged student by focusing on student voice & communication. Being engaged means having the confidence to share ideas, ask questions, and communicate our learning with others. We want all students to know that their voices matter and that their ideas can make a difference in our school community! Next Week’s Challenge: Encourage your child to use their voice confidently and respectfully to share an idea, explain their thinking, or talk about something they are proud of learning. Family Connection: Ask your child, "How did you use your voice to share your thinking or ideas at school today?" |
